If they don’t acknowledge that his behavior in s4 is to avoid acknowledging how much trauma he’s gone through and his behavior in s5 is because he’s worried about losing Nancy already, both to college and now to Steve. He’s only proposing out of fear of losing her. Nancy needs to SEE him, please someone SEE him, he’s drowning. Everyone’s so focused on his brother and he’s DROWNING.
