Depends on the state. In general, you cannot use the threat of deadly force, such as brandishing a firearm, in response to only non-deadly physical force. The use of any force in self-defense must be proportional to the threat faced, and deadly force (or the threat of it) is typically legally justified only when you reasonably believe you are in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm. This clip doesn’t show enough, in my opinion, to make a call one way or the other. Simply being angry and approaching someone is probably not enough to support a deadly force response. Was he armed? Did he stop approaching before getting too close? What was he saying? What were his hands doing? Was he harming the girl?
