I need calorie tracking in order to eat the right amount of the right thing. It sounds obsessive, but it really isn't. My body lies to me lol

Naturally low appetite not naturally thin! Thin ppl eat whatever they want often, but they don’t want to eat as much as others etc etc

Yeah I’m very grateful for my parents. Even tho my mom had a ed her whole life, we grew up with a very healthy mindset around food. We never had to finish anything, still get dessert if we felt like it, don’t eat something we didn’t like, tv snacks usually contained fruit and veggies, but we also were allowed to eat candy or go and have fast food, we always tried everything at least ones and they always showed us what they were cooking and let us help in the kitchen. They encouraged us to cook ourselves too. I’m that friend that craves healthy food over sweets or chips. But I also don’t limit myself. If I want to I’ll eat what I’m craving and usually a few pieces of candy for example are fine 😊 not limiting myself makes me not crave these things in an obsessive way. My weight is the same for the past years and I only gained weight once in my life while being in an unhealthy relationship.

For some. Not for neurodivergent people. I am literally “born different” because of the food noise from my adhd. Vyvanse reducing that food noise to be the same as others has changed my life and is the first time I haven’t had the ED thoughts or behaviours in over 20 years. Conditioning didn’t change how my brain worked. Having self control just worsened the ED due to the way my brain works. Let the audhd girlies have some grace for themselves!

Exactly. My mom forced us to always finish our plate even at restaurant with adult portion. She would never buy sweets. Guess what? Now I have a very hard time controlling myself around food, especially sweets ☹️I hate it. I have started in the last maybe 5 years (I am 40) to be able to say stop when I am full. I will never do that with my kid

it's not about food it's about movement. you're supposed to walk for miles and miles, half hungry, gathering or hunting or whatever. if you burn enough calories, it doesn't matter at all what you eat or how much. however modern life is sitting, mainly, in closed spaces, staring at screens, which leads to neuroses. weird behaviours around food is all neuroses.

I alwayssss have my favorite junk foods around and it has done wonders for my relationship with food. Zero scarcity mindset-- I can have as much as I want so now I only eat as much as I actually want

Putting restrictions and control over food is the thing that will ruin your relationship with food and mess you up I live by that

grew up with bodyshaming, pretty sure i have adhd - the food noise is constant and i'm hardly ever full. ive been tracking and in a moderate deficit, eating super balanced, since july 24 and i'm STILL always thinking about food & hungry. some people are just wired this way and i accepted it for myself.

I didn't watch anything like America's next top model. We did eat healthy at home but my mom never talked about weight and never restricted how much we ate, she just didn't like giving us junk (home cooked meals, lots of veggies etc). When I moved out I ate a lot of junk (not bingeing but a lot of take out etc) but didn't gain weight at first, until I did. I love food and I overeat so easily. I think about food all the time but never had to restrict until I was suddenly overweight.

Uh not really, insulin-resistance makes my body only crave carbohydrates in any form (yeah I often crave fruits and veggies too) so I literally have to force myself to eat the bare minimum protein intake, otherwise i would’t have any muscle mass.
