Actually, there’s more to learn from the Crucible!! It’s an allegory, and a response to the red scare, when our government kept point at each other, calling each other communists with literally zero evidence. Miller used the Crucible to condemn and critique McCarthyism.

i have been reading A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. it is set in a time frame prior to count of monte cristo ie it speaks of the french revolution itself, and what circumstamces led to it. it is such a great historical fiction book

Best thing I ever heard in fiction “everything lasts for a while” it stuck in my head now forever lol. It’s in the book a scanner darkly but I have not read it yet.

thoroughly enjoyed 'the crucible', there was definitely a mania that came through in a lot of the dialogue that was so interesting. id love to read 'the count of monte cristo' next year but im so intimidated by it

The bible originally said "Thou shall not suffer a poisoner to live", but then James I became paranoid that witches were after him so he had the line changed to "Thou shall not suffer a with to live" in the King James Bible.
