Honestly, as someone who grew up with Chinese sweets, traditional Chinese sweets are just not that good. Some are really good like egg tarts, the Macau/Portuguese ones are better, but most are just okay.

Love your honesty, at least you’ve tried. The green mochi like ball is one of my favorite called ‘青团‘, It is made from sticky rice flour and mugwort leaves’ essense. Inside, it usually has sweet red bean paste. People eat it in spring, during the Qingming Festival. The mugwort is believed to help the body adjust to spring, support digestion, and remove dampness.
