I support people checking out at OP's recommendations. I also want to share one moment of dialogue in a movie that made the desire to write good dialogue grow inside me was the scene in the ships's cabin where Zora and Duncan are sat together, catching up and we get to know so much about the individuals, their relationship to each other by the willingness to get personal and people outside the conversation, how tragedy struck and what it left behind besides the pain. Each layer sets the expectation for future character interactions and responses to increasingly hopeless situations. At the time, the shocking part was how few words were needed to convey so much information. In other words, the writers proved to me that skillfully written dialogue can speak volumes with very few words. To repeat myself, check out the recommended books and movies, and if you look and listen for amazing, you'll find it elsewhere too. 😁
