a family friend has been adding to her paper chains as long as ive been alive. she uses the christmas cards they recieve each year to add to the chain. it then gets a dedicated box or in this case now boxes to store till the following christmas.

when i lived with my dad he refused to buy ornaments for the Christmas tree i begged for so i made all ornaments from construction paper and the star was 2 styrofoam plates cover in aluminum foil. it was a very beautifully decorated tree of i do say so myself.

If you do this with ribbon, especially wired ribbon, and hot glue you can reuse them for years! I made a bunch this year and they’re going right in with my garlands when I pack it all up at the end of the season. It takes a long time but it’s so worth it!
