The audience you gained 10 plus years ago are grown now. We’re not watching from our childhood bedrooms with no concept of money or the real world. We’re all grown now with bills, families, and real world problem. We don’t want to listen to someone talking about all their luxury items/homes while we struggle to pay our bills, gas, FOOD! It’s not relatable anymore and honestly it’s quite depressing listening to brand deals, sponsored posts, or showing off all your luxury things while we’re over here making sure we scrape enough together to survive.

Nothing is relatable anymore, there is a huge gap between influencers and the rest of us. We live very different lives. Influencers attempting to save their platforms by just showing us “what we wanna see” feels very disingenuous and forced.

I just read the comments on the other video too and some are harsh but some I completely agree with. It’s hard to watch the disconnect from influencers to us - the gap feels HUGE. Most of us struggle everyday while we watch Tarte give trips away to people who can afford them without a second thought, that’s not a dig at your content but it unfortunately drives the wedge between the “beauty community”

Personally, I really like you, but I skip videos that show so much luxury, huge wardrobe or sooo many things that I can’t afford. They don’t leave me feeling good because I can’t afford even one of your hundreds bags. I skip because I don’t want to feel down after a video. I do really love your makeup content, not the type that’s pushing products, but the real makeup techniques. I also like the more vlog style content where it’s not showing all the things I can’t afford 😅 Keeping it real with you just because you asked.

I feel like the content should be less of the wealth display/sharing and more of the knowledge sharing. We know y’all are wealthy and we like seeing that some of the time, but there has to be the added value where we learn as well.
