I'm starting to believe that there should be inspections done during the entire build because it seems like these builders are just doing whatever they want. they don't care about the fact that people are going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and spend most of their lifetime paying off their house just to have it look like that on the inside. yikes!

fun fact. that does not effect the structual support of that wood. You only need 1.5 inches of bearing weight

that's why I hate those straps. They need to be staggered more and towards center. You build everything square and tight then? repairing that is a pain
