Majority of pro life comes from a religious place. It’s impossible to penetrate that

The beautiful thing about being pro choice is that you yourself can be pro life, but you can also believe that people have the right to make decisions for themselves.

Bodily autonomy is always my argument. Pregnancy and birth carry the risk of death. Whether or not I accept that risk is my choice to make. Period.

if you are against abortion : don't abort. for the rest, let women decide what is best for them

Honestly, I think the strongest argument is "embryos's can be frozen, babies cannot and that is why they're not the same thing." 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's really a bummer that we have to explain bodily autonomy repeatedly.

I’ve made these claims a lot. I’ve discovered pro life is not open minded to constructive feedback that would allow change

For me the strongest argument is that human rights don’t include entitlement to someone else’s body/bodily functions/autonomy/integrity etc (without their current, continuous consent) not even if one’s own life depends on it. And regardless of how the situation came into question. This law is so sacred you can’t even take organs from dead people without their consent. This argument doesn’t rely on the fact that a fetus isn’t developed because not even grown humans have these rights.

This argument usually falls on deaf ears. The pro life crowd does not recognize women as individual, autonomous human beings. It’s all rooted in misogyny.

Bodily autonomy is not an absolute right. If I walk into a doctors office and ask them to amputate my perfectly healthy arm, they won’t do it.

this logic is flawed, because it strips those who are incapable of response of their rights. If someone is an a coma, they essentially lose their rights as they can't be autonomous. It's an incredibly slippery slope when you actually critically think about it

If people are not required to give a kidney to any person so they can live then we should not be required to be pregnant and give birth so a baby can live.

To simplify what you said; “no one has the right to use another’s body for any reason without continuous consent, even if their life depends on it.”

My favourite is this one: A pregnant person creates an organ (placenta), which the embryo/fetus uses. The embryo/fetus uses the hosts blood, bones&teeth (taking calcium from them if they don't get enough), kidneys (to filter its waste), lungs (to get breathing gases), nutrients. Forcing a woman to carry an unwanted pregnancy is therefore forcing her to be an organ donor. It's the same as forcefully connecting a healthy person to a person with kidney failure, so that the other person may live (because the healthy organism would filter the waste). Even if it would be "just for 9 months" nobody should be forced to be in this situation - connected to someone without a way out, their organs being used against their will, not being able to be as mobile as when they were free, not being able to eat/drink anything that they want, because it may hurt the person they are attached to. If not allowing an embryo/fetus to use your organs is considered murder, because it would die without, then not donating/being connected to a sick person should also be murder, as the sick person would die without using someone's organs.
