Actual answer: They're localizations. Matthew is the English form of the Greek name Maityu, and Peter is the English form of Petros. In Spanish bibles, they're Matteo and Pedro. Yes, I did have a highlighted Bible, and yes, I did end up an atheist.

What do you think when someone says they have read the collected works of Shakespeare? Is one kind of obsessive nerd that much different than another?
