my dad begged me to give him water in the hospital, I didn't give him any to avoid aspiration pneumonia.... he passed away anyway and I carry the guilt of NOT giving him the water he begged for 🥺

she was probably told not to do it as well. I've had a conversation as a hospice nurse with a family member giving fluids via a 30mL piston syringe...ya she got aspiration pneumonia and this woman had the balls to ask why.

My 8 year old daughter got this over the summer when she aspirated a little bit of water from playing in a wave pool. It took two rounds of antibiotics and several weeks of follow up to clear.
