I heard the takata air bags messed up not because of the heat but because they mis threaded the air bag instead of cross stitch it had a parallel stich which caused the issue.

one of my close friends was killed by a takata airbag in her Honda fit. it went off and sent a piece of shrapnel through her neck. she had just become a resident at our local hospital and had organized our 10 year highschool reunion. Amber was an amazing woman bound for greatness.
