Florida no longer sends the title once you pay of a vehicle it stay electronic… you have to go to dmv and request the title hard copy if you need it. Doesn’t cost much either but you have to go in person

Used to be a finance manager at a car dealer. This happened all the time. Go to the DMV in the state it’s registered in. You’ll need to fill out a duplicate title application. Call the bank it was financed with first though. Have them send you a lien release just in case it was only signed by the bank on the title (Happened in NC all the time) Some states require an original lien release. So you may get it in the mail. Some others are electronic. Then you’ll get the title in the mail.

you just call the bank and they will mail it to you, and/or request a copy through the DMV its just state dependent who holds the title

At least in Ohio when you pay a car off you have a electronic title. Just go to the dmv/bmv. Worst case you have to call the bank for a lien release. But the days of paper titles are gone after payoffs

BoostedKevy :
It’s possible they sent a lien release letter, with that and the title with the lien on it you can take it to dmv and get them to remove the lien and send you a new lien free title

Even if the account is closed they will have records of it. Talk to the bank directly with your proof of paid off. If the won’t give you the title then escalate it.

Usually title gets released at dmv via electronic title , so you should be able to go to the dmv in the original state and get it

Have you called the bank? They might be able to make a new one or goto the DMV and see if it’s a virtual title
