as butchers, they would have large aprons, I would assume. if Payne wore it while doing it and then took it off before leaving, he could have avoided getting the blood on him. the question is, were his chores done? because of not, it was him. if so, he didn't have time.

the timeline is SO tight for Payne or the husband to have done it. certainly not impossible but if it was the husband did he have time to put on and remove an apron before and after doing the crime?? fascinating
