Unfortunately my Aunty was the very first woman in Queensland to contract HIV through a blood transfer in the 80's. Thankfully due to proper treatment and medication she is still with us, doing really well. She's in her 70's now. ❤️

Started working on the wards in mid 80 s at St Vincent’s. You have no idea how these men were treated. No idea. Was haunting scenes that still gives me nightmares. The neglect was from top to bottom I had to leave. Not for the nursing. For the injustice. In end I was sacked because I would help them. Truly lost my faith. Went into another career.
