I am an immigrant from Ethiopia 🇪🇹. When I came to the United States, the first thing I focused on was learning the English language. Within three years, I was proud to join the U.S. Army and serve this country. Over time, through hard work and discipline, I was able to own a beautiful car, purchase a 4,000-sq-ft home, and continue building my life. I went to college and earned my bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering Technology from Middle Tennessee State University. Later, I earned my CDL and also completed my HVAC certification during COVID. I have always worked legally and honestly, continuing to improve myself and contribute to my community. Recently, one of my neighbors made an unfair assumption about me and even suggested reporting me to ICE, thinking I sell drugs. That is hurtful and untrue. Everything I have achieved comes from dedication, faith, and the opportunities this country provides. I share my story not to brag, but to remind people that America offers incredible opportunities when we stop judging each other, stop hating one another, and focus on working hard and thinking positively. This country truly has room for everyone who wants to grow and contribute.
