Representatives for both children sued the Children, Youth & Families Departmetn recently, claiming workers failed to intervene after five investigations into the family within two years before Xaquie’s death. The lawsuit alleges both parents were reported to the department for abuse and neglect five times in eight months before Xaquie died. They claim investigators had evidence that the family didn’t have proper living conditions, and Adame even admitted there was abuse in the home and prior drug use.
