I believe our was ten dollars for lockouts first one was free though. However, I do think the money was donated if I can remember.

at my first university they started charging people per lockout after 5 (I think) times. I'm pretty sure that was per term. A guy in my hall the year before they started this locked himself out 15 times (that we knew about) in fall term

Ours was $20 cash due at time of key in and the RAs got to keep it.

When I was an RA I had a student do this to me and I was like okay this is like the 6th + lockout today alone and several in the last hour. I have stuff and homework to do to. I told the student do not call me again for a lockout. They took the door off the hinges. 😂

$8 is too low. School should bump it up to $75 and make it due immediately 😂. I know that’s unrealistic and would never happen but these kids have to learn. Going out of your way to rectify a problem is what adulthood is about.

when I worked front desk of my dorm, I confirmed with the dorm manager that we were not actually supposed to open the door for people once it was locked for the night & that included guests & people who went out to smoke without their keys. And they weren't allowed to prop the door open. Those b!tches HATED me, but they did start bringing their keys! Also, they were standing in front of a phone as they sounded on the door screaming like banshees, so they could call a friend...

I think our policy was free lockouts like the first 2-3 times (?) but if it became excessive then they would charge you. But also a new ID was only like $25 and you needed it to access literally everywhere on campus, you couldn’t even go to the dining hall without it 😭
