On the way to the field In 1999, there was a boy named Ali. He woke up one morning, washed his face, brushed his teeth, performed ablution, prayed, put on his clothes, grabbed his books, and got on his bicycle. He told his mother that after school, he would go to his grandfather's farm, where his grandparents lived. Ali went to school, and after the last class, he left and rode his bicycle to his grandfather's farm. Remembering that he wanted to spend the weekend at his grandfather's farm, Ali decided to go home first. He put down his books, ate lunch, and went to bed to rest. When he sat up, he looked at his watch, quickly grabbed his clothes, and got on his bicycle to go to his grandfather's farm. He left the house as sunset was approaching. Ali's bicycle had a flashlight, and the sky was overcast with clouds. The weather was very, very cold. Ali rode to his grandfather's farm, and after a few minutes, thunder began to rumble across the sky, and the cold intensified. Ali started to increase his bicycle speed to arrive before the rain began. He reached the beginning of the dirt road leading to the farm. Rain fell, accompanied by a strong wind. The wind was strong and began to sway him left and right as he struggled against it. Darkness fell. Ali switched on his bicycle headlight halfway to the farm. He heard dogs barking, and the sounds were getting closer. Ali turned around and saw seven dogs chasing him. He increased his speed, but the dirt ground was now wet from the rain. The bicycle overturned, and Ali fell to the ground. He quickly got up, climbed a tree, and began shouting for his grandfather to rescue him. His grandfather was sitting in his small hut on the farm, lighting a fire, preparing dinner with his wife. The grandmother opened the window to call her in to help prepare dinner together, but then she saw rain, thunder, wind, and a cold. The grandfather heard someone nearby calling for help. He grabbed his rifle and the headlight and went towards the sound. When he got closer, he saw dogs barking. He fired a single shot into the sky, and the stray dogs ran away.
