People also don't realize the longer you go without a job, it's held against you. Some companies don't bother if you have more than a 2 month gap on your resume.

Not a year, but it took 5 1/2 to get my first job offer. And that was literally this morning 🙃 5 1/2 months for someone with an advanced degree and a lot of experience is FAR too long

The market is terrible! I’m so sorry! There are also people who HATE their current job (not paid enough/ treated like garbage etc.) but they are stuck bc there is literally no other option.

I graduated into the recession- took me a year to find a job, but at least I was getting interviews! Like at least 1/week. This time around I’m coming up on 8 months and have only had three HR screeners. That’s it.
