We hold onto those beliefs like they’re the truth… until they start to suffocate us. After 40, if we don’t let go of the stories we were handed, we end up repeating patterns that no longer serve us. We stay loyal to identities that were never really ours. We keep doing what’s familiar instead of what’s true. The last five years of my life have been a complete unraveling and a complete rebirth. I hit rock-bottom. I lost almost everything. And as painful as that was, it forced me to ask: who am I without the roles, the expectations, the distractions, or the survival mode? It gave me the chance to begin again — not from who I was supposed to be, but from who I actually am. Letting go isn’t a loss. It’s the doorway.
