Before Islam, Mecca was a center of polytheism. Around the Kaaba stood 360 idols representing various gods. A primary ritual of the pagans of that time was the physical veneration of stones: they touched and kissed them, believing in their magical power. After the destruction of the idols, this ancient ritual was preserved in relation to the Black Stone. Millions of people to this day strive to kiss it, repeating the same actions performed by pagans thousands of years ago. This brings us to an important thought: Continuity of Ritual: The preservation of the custom of kissing a stone may indicate that the prophet did not fully distinguish between true revelation and deeply rooted pagan habits. Discerning Spirits: The Bible teaches us to "test the spirits" (1 John 4:1), as Satan and his angels can take on a deceptive appearance of light to lead people away from pure faith. Verification of Prophecies: True prophets always verified their visions against previous Scriptures.
