That mail was sorted on the train. In the US West those trains also distributed fresh food to the kitchens in the Harvey House Hotels making fresh

Ok but if theres already a train on that track and theres no ring does the train just stop on the main line? What happens then i mean yea sure everyone knows theres a problem because of this but what is done to fix it?

Tokens were not used in North America. In the USA, Canada and Mexico, Train Order Forms containing instructions for the crew were given the passing train with a Train Order Hoop/Fork, a device that is somewhat similar to the ring used for tokens.

In Vietnam they use a pole with metal clip while on the train they have metal hook. They clip the token on the pole and the train hook just hook it while moving. that was 30 yrs ago not sure how they do it now

It's not that difficult, I did it as a kid at my local train station a few times. You don't have a death grip on the token, it just gets pulled from your fingers. Also the arriving train would just drop their token on the platform.

We had large white wooden bins that the train crew would throw the hoop into, then the station staff would hold up the next section's hoop to be collected.
