It’s been going on for about a year now. They stopped doing a price match because people were getting too crazy with it even on their own website. You have the disorder from there and then have it delivered or dropped off at the store.

I worked in electronics for over a decade. Honestly, this isn't new. Ink is more expensive than the printers in some cases. $79 is definitely on the higher end, but overall, it's not uncommon for it to cost more than the Printer that includes the same ink. My printer was $34 when I got it in 2018, and the separate ink for it is $49. It's always been weird to me, but it's been that way for a long time.

the ink that comes with the printer is starter ink. it's like 5% of the yield of actual ink.
