@lockjnay: I bought a CO detector to test the air quality inside my car just to see how bad my exposure really is. For a little backstory I bought this Ford Bronco in September 20 24. Within the first two months of owning the vehicle I called and reported that occasionally when I stopped at a stop sign I could smell exhaust but it only happens sometimes. Then I had to bring my car in for a recall repair in June 20 25 and told them that this was still a problem. That’s when they did a software update, but that it did not fix the problem, it actually made it worse. Now I smell exhaust every time I stop at a stop sign, no matter how long, or if I go from pushing the brake pedal to my gas pedal too quickly is when the exhaust comes in through the vent. The next time I brought my car in the mechanic and I drove around so I could show him what was happening and it didn’t happen with him in the car. (this pissed me off so bad of course I sound like a crazy person ) So I continue to drive my car for a couple months. I could still smell the exhaust at a stop sign or a stoplight but it wasn’t happening Every single time just most of the time. then as soon as it got cold, it got extremely worse. I called and reported that when my car is an idle at any point, that’s when it’s happening. When I brought it into the shop the next time they were able to smell the exhaust and knew that it was a problem. The mechanics then decided to replace all my gaskets and clamps on my exhaust system. I had to wait a week for the parts to come in and then they had my car for three days. Unfortunately that didn’t work. I asked if I could have a rental car because I was driving six hours to Kentucky for Thanksgiving and it was insane to think that I had to drive a car that was leaking exhaust into the cab with my child and pets inside the vehicle as well. They were unable to give me a rental car and even if they could, they said that I couldn’t drive it out of state. So here I was just left with a car that is exposing me and my family to toxic fumes. I take it to the shop for the fifth time next week this time they’re replacing my Cadillac converter. Let’s hope it fixes it so I can be done breathing intoxic fumes. 😭😭 so glad I still owe $30,000 on this stupid car hopefully I’m not dead before I can pay it off @@Ford Motor Company #f#fyp
