There was one guy on here who said he'd straight up ask women if he had their permission to flirt with them for a moment. I thought that was both cute and effective because it showed he cares about consent and he wasn't hiding his intentions. Plus, I really appreciate the clarity because people (like, statistically) are bad at knowing when others are flirting with them vs being nice.

once a guy passed by me on the street and said “like the tattoos!” and kept walking.. he wasn’t engaging in a conversation or expecting anything. that felt safe compared to most street comments.

The one time I got a compliment on my appearance that actually felt like a compliment, I was on a very long escalator in an airport. A guy going the other way on a parallel escalator yelled "You're beautiful" before we were immediately whisked apart. He didn't look back or try to follow it up with anything. I still think about him. 😂

I had a man walk up to me in the grocery store and say "I just want you to know that I think you look so stylish and original and I just wanted to tell you that" and he walked away fast. That is still my favourite compliment 4 years later and I never saw him again. No pressure no expectations just a memorable compliment.

I was on the train dressed to meet a friend and a man told me I looked like an old Hollywood star and immediately got off the train. Best compliment I've ever gotten and it was heightened with him leaving. He didn't need a response from me.
