the parallel of young snow getting his food taken away from him during the war when he was starving vs Katniss getting the bread from Peeta when she was starving giving her hope ….

Katniss is the child that Snow and Lucy Gray never had.

I think the fact that they were in a similar situation, but acted so severely different really speaks volumes on their individuality though. Like Katniss and Snow both struggled, but Snow would have never volunteered for Tigress the way Katniss volunteered for Prim. (not that he could) Katniss would never have let Prim sell herself and then go "eh I don't wanna think about it" knowing it probably happened. they both had to work hard to hide their poverty and work with the skills they had to survive, sure but Katniss made her way to the top by working with others, even if she didn't initially trust them, Snow got to the top by stepping on others and using them until they're no longer of use to him

snow perfectly knew how to hurt katniss the most because they were so similar.

SOTR really gave us perspective as to how similar Snow and Katniss’s narrations are with how Haymitch’s contrasted. They’re very calculated and rage-filled and view people negatively, Katniss just goes in a different direction than Snow because she’s stronger
