The lack of support after diagnosis is also shocking. It’s like they haven’t just given you a completely life changing bit of information! That’s why I wrote a book to support women in that situation because there is still so little info out there 😩

what actually happens when you get diagnosed as an adult ? what changes in your life. My son has autism and has just been diagnosed at 6 but why are adults desperate to get diagnosed late in life

💯 Totally agree fought for my daughter diagnosis to realise at 40 I had same issue I just masked a little better so no one noticed my struggles. It’s not over diagnosed it’s now awareness!

💯. In this day n age u still get ppl questioning n judging n thinking its all for benifits but ad rather be healthy enough to work full time n go nice holidays n not worry about money or ppl judging

You tell them Christine!! it wasn't acknowledged until the early 80's in the UK.. can you believe it .. in my high school early 70's - mid children were classed as dumb or a bit slow & put in classes together..it makes me sad now looking back how they struggled and some were picked on ... so no its always been around but even now trying to get assessed alone is so damn hard & I'm talking young children it makes me so cross 😢

Maybe it's just degrees of human behaviour and not a condition. Everyone these days, particularly the younger generation, love nothing more than a medical label to use as an excuse.

They should be able to diagnose people earlier, my son is 4 and he has so much energy and some of the things he does I think shows signs of it xx would you be willing to message me and talk to me about it xx
