Love these tips! Only thing I’d say is that I recently learned that the foam SD card holders increase the risk for corruption because of static electricity 😭 I switched to a tackle box type case with little slots for my SD cards in their plastic containers!

I’ve been doing this as a hobby for a few years and I’m still not where I want to be, I’m thinking of investing in some decent lighting and doing studio portraits instead but I lack so much confidence it’s stopping me from doing this full time 🥲

At what point do you take the leap to the big girl lenses? I currently have a sigma lense and I’m convinced it’s the reason my photos are never quite as sharp as I want them to be, but a 3k price tag is A LOT when I’m only part time with no weddings.

ALWAYS get an SSD hard drive. The solid states are wayyyy harder to break when getting dropped thrown in a bag etc. regular hard drives corrupt after one drop because there is a physical disc inside. I lost 6 years and thousands of photos because I didn’t want to spend the money on a good SSD in high school. Western Digital is my all time favorite

My type b self not wanting to delete off the card until gallery is sent and loved and then I’ll take off the card but I’ll have about 5 sessions on there that aren’t all sent off yet so I reformat when I finally can clean the whole thing off 😭

This is a need, thank youu so much! For the post shoot how do you handle file management though? Do you have a photo manager or just a manual setup? I’ve been using Workbeaver to automatically rename and sort my files based on what's in the photo, i’m just interested on what u use

I like Adobe lightroom. the layout is much cleaner and it's nice to have all my files on hand through the app. how and why format sd cards? I've always just deleted the pictures
