Someone once made the “so it’s free” joke to me and I told him “for that, when I discover the price, I’m tripling it just for you.” When I came back I told him “it’s $5, but for you it’s $15.” He laughed, I didn’t and then he realized I was serious. I may have lost the sale, but it was a worthwhile victory.

The last one. 🤣🤣🤣 I've had something kinda similar happen at Walmart. Now, I, do not work at Walmart. But I'll often go to Walmart after work (6am), and the number of times people have seen my bright ORANGE shirt and have assumed I work for Walmart is alarming (NONE of Walmart's uniforms are orange). Fortunately, 99% of the time I know where the thing is that they're asking about and will take them to it, simply because it's 6am and I must assume these folks haven't had any coffee yet.
