My mom offered me beverages out of a hamper and said her neighbor was watching her from behind the plant. Mom thought she was on a cruise ship. That ship docked and I brought her home.

Oh I know it is scary! My mom had delirium from her cancer treatments. They stopped her treatments it was effecting her mind so bad. She told my sister that two sticks came up from the ground and the sticks are fighting each other. When my mom came to her normal self we told her what she said. She started laughing. My aunt also had an episode too. Hers lasted for a long time. She was asking for our dead love ones. At one point she ripped off all her medical supplies off and tried to leave the hospital. It was so scary too see! She told me there was a man behind me. At that point I was like ooh ok time to go!

Hospital can give delusional thoughts very quickly. My mom had the same reactions. Institutional living can cause delusions in as few as 30 minutes. It’s hard to keep them out of the hospital. It’s good to not stress her and believe her, then say that it’s probably gone.
