If you can’t tip 20%, you can’t afford to eat at a dine in restaurant

I've been a server since 2004 lol if you don't like people you should not do this job! nobody stiffs me because I really enjoy taking care of people and they feel that warmth and I make it a memorable experience for them. servers are not like me anymore. this generation can't do it. I will earn every scent of that tip I will dance table side it won't be pretty but I'll do it lol

Tipping is out of control for chosen job . Begging for handouts. Employer should pay salary for skill set of pouring tea

LMFAOOO exactly. Why would you think I'd tip you 30 dollars when the service you provided was terrible? No one will EVER make me feel bad for not tipping for bad service and I was a server/bartender for 6 years lol.

But you’re not always getting bad service. In America tip your servers or go to Kroger. Otherwise pay $50 for a meal you’d otherwise pay $35 for. Cause if you want to close the restaurants and eat at home for eternity SAY THAT!

Oh 100%. Went to Friendly’s w my baby and I had to ask multiple times for our food/drinks. I asked for a Coke Zero 3 times and never got it. She also took 30 minutes to bring us ice cream when there were 3 ppl behind the ice cream counter doing nothing the entire time. I didn’t tip her at all. I was there for almost 2 hours…. Mind you there were only 5 total tables there. It was insane.

Yup, servers act entitled to a tip regardless of the service they provide. 18% is for good service not the bare minimum

Real talk, I’m not with it either. They even expect a tip for carryout. It’s all a scam

i get it to an extent i’m a server an 100% understand that a tip is earned however i’ve had many tables where nothing goes wrong and everyone’s happy and saying how well my service is and they would come back for me and then leave me .50 cents now that’s where i don’t understand this logic.

I serve and bartend. I really take pride in my job. If you believe you had bad service, I do not expect a tip. If everyone calls off and I’m the only server with 12 tables and can’t give you the A1 service you should get, even tho I know it’s not my fault I still understand and don’t expect much. Because it’s not the experience you expected. A lot of people in the industry are just money hungry and ruining it for the rest of us. Will give you the bare minimum and feel entitled to a tip.

I’m a server part time and I do tip everywhere I go because I usually don’t get bad service and I know people are trying in this economy especially and somebody has to do the job. However I will say, sometimes it gets so busy that I don’t give my best service and if I get tipped less, I don’t take it personally at all. However I noticed servers look at me like since I’m black I probably won’t tip and give me worse service than other tables at times and I HATE IT. That definitely makes me not want to tip so I agree 🤷🏾♀️

Ok but that’s common sense tho, if they are giving u crappy service u r in ur every right to not tip or tip low but people are coming out with those sayings MAINLY because so many people want to abuse the service, people go out making it so difficult for servers and act like they’re the only table they have to take care of or act like they’re serves are the ones making the food or prices, some people will make servers go back and forth so much on purpose and make them do extra work and don’t tip. This whole tipping thing comes down to 2 things 1. Owners of companies not wanting to pay a regular livable wage and 2. People treating other people like humans instead of slaves or animals.

I don’t care what job anyone chooses — I care about how my money is spent. And after what happened at Sexy Crab Legs on Long Island, celebrating a minor’s birthday, and they still tried to add a tip to my bill? Yeah… no. That’s why I don’t tip at restaurants anymore. I just pay for my service and bounce. I cook in my own house and do my socials in my own space. If they’ve got a problem, they can take that up with their boss not me.
