in many stores actually they keep the CDs at the register so when you take the box to chck out they'll give you the CD like at DVD rentals years ago

Many places (at least where I live) keep the disc at the counter so people don't steal or damage them. I suggest going to ask about it and if it's really missing maybe they'll take the case and throw it out (bc an empty case is rly useless)

The place I go to put their discs for films and cds bahind the counter and hand it to your when you buy one to prevent stealing, I think every place should do that

Sometimes they’ll have the actual disc like in the back or under the counter and it’s just so nobody tries to steal the disc, in a lot of shops I go to the dvd’s or CD’s will be empty and when you take it to checkout they get the actual disc for you.

I have noticed and experienced this numerous times during looking through used CDs in many thrift stores and a jewel case but no CD. Honestly I don’t get it! Doesn’t the people who take the CDs to donate to the stores even look to make sure the disc is in the case? And even worse is why don’t the store employees check stuff they they get before putting it out for sale? If the disc is missing, then throw away the case. It’s a simple as that. Where are people’s brains these days? Just saying.
