What we essentially lost was moms learning about a relevant, timely meme during daytime television and then repeating it to their kids, immediately rendering it “uncool”. Moms are all on reels now but the algorithm is to expansive and these things no longer come across their desks. I’m not sure the environment for which Ellen was the apex, even exists anymore 😭
