I live by an emu farm that’s in a fancy gated neighborhood. My neighborhood is downwind of that one and sued because the smell was so bad. They were keeping 500+ birds. And then the Northridge earthquake happened and ALL THE FENCES FELL DOWN. The sun rose on that day to hundreds of flightless birds running amok in a community filled with mansions and farm hands chasing them down. The donkey that lived there was having the time of his life though. It’s a scene my tween brain will never forget. (My house is on the other side of the wall that separates our neighborhood)

It’s not irrational they are dinosaurs. Have you ever been very close to one? Ostriches and emus are dinosaurs and that what your feeling. I swear by this theory

as someone who grew up with Emus bc my dad wanted to raise them for fun, they're in fact absolute arseholes. They're aggressive, especially if you have any breeding pair, and my dad still has a HAND LENGTH SCAR on his bicep from an Emu talon. bc of course they're modern day veloceraptors

My mother and I were picking up old farmhouse windows up from someone and we heard a weird bird sound and looked at the neighbors two doors down and saw 3 EMUS in these people’s yard😳😳 owner came out with a long 🗡️that starts with an M and started chasing one of them. Lady we were getting the windows from goes “oh guess he’s getting rid of the mean one” LIKE WHAT

Emu's are a little scary, but id rather them than a Cassowary. Both are modern day dinosaurs but the Cassowary are considered one of the world's most dangerous birds. There have been deaths caused by these beasts.
