@lmphotography90: 📍 What is Cheras? Cheras is a large suburb/district that straddles both the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and part of Selangor (Hulu Langat/Kajang). It lies southeast of central Kuala Lumpur, roughly ~10 km from the city center. Because of the split between Kuala Lumpur and Selangor administration, some parts of Cheras are under the jurisdiction of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (for the KL side) and others under Kajang Municipal Council / other local authorities. Cheras is a mature, established suburb: old landed housing estates (terrace houses, older homes) co-exist with newer high-rise and apartment developments. It’s a mixed residential + commercial + suburban area: many local neighbourhoods, but also substantial shopping malls, business centres and local amenities. For many residents, Cheras offers a balance — more affordable compared to prime KL city-center, yet still well connected and with convenient amenities. 🚆 Connectivity & Transport: Cheras is well-served by public transport: multiple stations of the MRT Sungai Buloh–Kajang Line pass through Cheras (e.g. Taman Midah, Taman Connaught, Taman Mutiara, etc.). There is also an LRT station (Sri Petaling Line / LRT) named after Cheras — although interestingly that station is technically a bit outside traditional “Cheras KL” boundaries.
