@unknown_woodworking: Whenever my neighbors take a tree down I try to grab a part to make them something. Usually a bowl is the easiest and most fun for me. This was not that bowl haha. I grabbed a piece at the crotch. I saw the bug infestation but had high hopes it might be super cool. Surprisingly there was no crotch figure and I just went far enough to remove all the rot. Every step on this fought me from mounting it to attempting to keep the live edge. I didn’t turn the tenon small enough so I had to switch chucks, just every step was a pain. This has now sat for awhile and it’s in one piece so I’m hoping to finish it up and now it can be a two part gift to include the holidays.
