Agreed, dogs are a bigger responsibility than ppl think. Being a dog mom for 15 years, hug and love on them; take plenty of videos and pictures. Time flies when they are no longer around.

Fran is so cute. Yes I second that🙏. Prioritize dental health. My silky terrier passed away to kidney failure in April. She was 14.5. I believe her dental disease led to her kidney failure. She hated when we touched her teeth by the time she was an adult. I didn’t know better when she was a baby as I was only 15 myself💔💔

Heavy on the dental health!! I had dogs growing up and we never brushed their teeth. When I adopted my pug he needed a cleaning after a year and had 11 teeth extracted 😭 if I would have known I would have started brushing the day I adopted him!

it’s also not good to spay them when they’re young puppies, I wish I would’ve waited until my dog fully developed— 2 years at least.

Yes to the dental care. I wasn’t good about it in my 20s either and then when he needed a dental at 12 we had to discontinue the procedure because of anesthesia issues and could no longer get dentals. Learn from me because his bad teeth ultimately played a factor in when I decided it was time 2 and 1/2 years later. It by far wasn’t his only health issue but my pug loved to eat and I knew it was quality of life for him.

So actually it’s healthier for them to have 2 heat cycles before getting spayed. At around 1 year old if you got them intact and as a puppy. The hormone cycle is super beneficial for their bones and over all health 🤍
