My dad just had a stroke but my mom called the ambulance almost immediately and caught it in time, he’s walking and talking now is this a good sign can it happen again what are some preventative things?

I had a stroke in August. No major side effects. I do still get tongue tied and can’t always figure out what I wanna say. But it’s getting better

I was told by the nurse that took care of she me advised me and my husband I would not be able to go back to work ever.. I couldn’t walk,talk or function … that was 3 yrs ago since then I went back to work, and currently studying /working on a designation in my field.

Mom had ischemic 12 days ago and after three sessions from her PTs she was able to walk without her walker. I'm just really thankful that she doesn't lost half of her body functions. She just said when she walks it feels like she's drunk that's why the PT does its job.

I’m a 6 year stroke survivor my dr told me before discharged take care of that wheelchair cause that’s ur new friend, they told me I wouldn’t b able to walk have a child n drive! 2 years into my recovery I proved them wrong I have accomplished all that they said I couldn’t do!! N I said bye to my “FRIEND” that they called it!!! It’s a big step but I’m blessed to b a survivor n stronger then before! I still have some things to recover but I know I can accomplish!!!
