As a real Diesel mechanic, it helps but nothing works like Archoil in the oil and fuel for any diesel.

As a diesel tech, yes please put ATF in your diesel fuel tank. Job security for me. Delt with the aftermath many many times.

Here’s the problem with that, depending on how much fuel you add transmission fluid to it turns your fuel red. Chances are you won’t get checked in a pickup but if you do red fuel is considered off road and very illegal to run over road. The fines can be massive.

Problem is, atf is dyed red, just like farm diesel. Good luck if you get pulled over and tank checked.

I’ve been putting ATF in my 2016 duramax since I’ve owned it. Seemed to work great. Every fill up.

ATF is not a lubricant. It is basically a hydraulic oil it’s a pressure base oil you’re better off to put in 1540 diesel fuel.

Diesels are oil burners !!!!! Ultra low sulfur fuel is super dry. Adding atf gives fuel lube !!!!!!

No, you should not add automatic transmission fluid (ATF) to a diesel tank. While some older mechanics used to do this decades ago, modern diesel engines are far more sensitive, and ATF can cause damage, increase emissions, and even void your warranty

Lucas makes additive just for lubricant for injectors. I’ve read where atf actually produces ash and is a hydraulic fluid with friction modifiers.
