@teachmemedicine.o: Exercise: Seated Straight-Leg Raise Starting position 1. Sit on a sturdy chair with your back upright and supported. 2. Place both feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart. 3. Keep your hands resting lightly on the sides of the chair or on your thighs for balance. 4. Engage your core gently by tightening your abdominal muscles. Movement 5. Slowly straighten one leg out in front of you until the knee is as straight as comfortable. 6. Flex the ankle so your toes point back toward your body. 7. Hold the leg in this straight position for about 3–5 seconds, feeling the front of your thigh working. 8. Keep your back tall and avoid leaning backward or rounding your shoulders. Return 9. Lower the leg back down with control until your foot returns to the floor. 10. Repeat the movement 8–12 times on the same leg. 11. Switch to the other leg and perform the same number of repetitions. Tips 12. Move slowly and smoothly, not with momentum. 13. Stop if you feel sharp pain in the knee, hip, or back. 14. Aim to do 1–3 sets per leg, as tolerated, once or twice daily to support knee strength and stability. #KneeStrength #SeatedExercise #JointHealth #PhysicalTherapy #MobilityTraining #KneePainRelief #RehabExercise
