I’ll never understand why Matthew Lillard is so overlooked. Put him in a movie and people will go and see it explicitly because he’s in the movie! As much as I love Fnaf I wasn’t interested in going to see the movie until I saw that he was in it. Because it’s Matthew Lillard and he’s an incredible actor. I genuinely think Tarantino is just whiny that he’s not well liked despite making objectively incredible movies because even as a young teen (my parents aren’t responsible when it comes to movie choices. I watched Deadpool at 11) Tarantino just… made me uncomfortable and I feel like that’s a pretty common refrain Tarantino is just a sleazy guy who happens to have a good artistic eye. Matthew Lillard is widely beloved and for an entire generation is the voice of one of the most iconic characters in history

I was at a con this weekend that Matthew ran late for and watching him be the first celeb to show up both days and work in overdrive because he didn’t want to disappoint anyone was incredible. He truly cares and puts the work in.

I actually met Matthew Lillard, completely randomly as he was just shopping with his family in this small mountain town I was living in. I was fan boying like crazy, but I didn’t wanna pester the man with his wife and kid, so gave the most casual “dude you’re awesome thank you for your amazing work,” he came back around the customer service desk just to say thank you to me. Like he absolutely didn’t need to, but I’ll remember that, forever.

I always thought it was funny that Gunn and Tarantino have similar methods when it comes to starting to write a film, they both start with the soundtrack and mould the film around it. Gunn is like the positive, unproblematic version of Tarantino.
