Honestly I’m shocked at all the people posting videos on their shopping and gifts they get for their angel tree recipient. Gifting should be from the heart and not to show off or get credit. Give with an open heart without praise

when I was 18 I did an angel tree....wrongly. I got what I could but almost nothing for A child. there was a family listed. I didn't know back then how to do these. we were poor so we never discussed them. I never received from them either. this year has really brought up my guilt and ignorance. Haven't done a tree since then . guaranteed I will do so much better when and if i ever am able to.

Think you're right! I also agree you don't shop at the dollar store for angel tree, if you can't afford to shop at even Walmart then you shouldn't do it!

The only way DT items are acceptable is if they’re used as fillers. I’ve found some awesome things there but I used them as fillers to go with the bigger items.

When I adopt someone, I have a friend who is a social worker here so I will adopt a foster kid for Christmas or I will do the post office one. We don’t have angel trees here? Anywho depending on the age I do between $50 and $100. I’m not rich, I just know how to shop well! I have never, ever, bought dollar tree items!!! And I have never made a video of myself doing it either. I usually don’t talk about it when it do it!

i cannot afford a angel tree as I would like to spend a decent amount make a good Christmas for someone I can't even afford to give my kids a decent Christmas 💁. so i buy what I can mix of stuff and prices and pass it on to a charity so they can use it to top up other bags, or use towards making hampers etc. it's not much but can help, feel like she was better of doing something along that line

I’m 50-50. I’ve done Angel tree a couple of times now. My Dollar tree has good toys that are namebrand. So I don’t see anything wrong with that. But clothes and toiletries and more expensive items yes obviously you have to be able and willing to spend that money. And you very much should.

She didn’t only shop at the dollar tree. She also bought bath and body works items. Those are not cheap items (for what they are) the kid wanted arts and crafts stuff so I think she did ok getting what the kid wanted (doesn’t have to be expensive it checked the box on what the kid asked for) my family does well financially and I buy some presents for my own children at dollar tree. Similar to what she bought-art supplies. I think she didn’t understand the skin care but as someone that wouldn’t either unless I had my teen girls I understand how she missed it.
