Parents, Students Defend L&K’s Education Investment, Declare Support for His Re-election •Say scholarship scheme and other interventions demonstrate commitment to constituency development Parents and beneficiaries of the Hon. Lukman Mudasiru Alani (L&K) Scholarship Scheme have expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s education and human-capital development initiatives, with participants at a meeting declaring their support for his re-election to continue his work in the House of Representatives Representing Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency. The position was expressed at a meeting organised by the Parents’ Committee of the L&K Scholarship Scheme on 19 October 2026, where parents and students also addressed recent criticisms and negative commentary concerning the scholarship programme. The parents said their support for Hon. Lukman Mudasiru was based on their direct experience with the scholarship scheme and other interventions targeted at young people and families in the constituency. They described the scholarship initiative as unprecedented in the history of the constituency and urged the lawmaker to remain focused on human-capital development and other programmes that directly benefit constituents. According to the parents, the programme has provided beneficiaries with access to university education, professional courses and welfare opportunities that many families would otherwise find difficult to afford. They particularly highlighted the rising cost of private university education, noting that sponsoring a child in some programmes can require a financial commitment of more than ₦1 million per academic session. The parents said the opportunity provided through the scholarship scheme had reduced the financial burden on beneficiary families while enabling their children to pursue courses capable of improving their future career prospects. Speaking at the meeting, representatives of the parents expressed their appreciation for the scholarship initiative and stated that they would support Hon.
