On a girls’ trip in 2016, we took a historical ghost tour. At the Lalaurie mansion, I was so overwhelmed by the story that I crossed the street and laid my hand on the wall. Just as a kind of show of respect to those who experienced such horrors there. But to my surprise, our tour guide is so freaked out by the mansion, that he refused to let me near him the rest of the tour. At one point, he even walked on the opposite side of the street. 🥴

Nola resident here, it’s always eerily dark inside the mansion but I saw that there was recently a lavish Halloween party thrown there where guests had to sign waivers before entering!! Spooky

Ok, but her husband was the one doing Mengele style surgeries on people. She was a horrible shrew, but her husband the PHYSICIAN was doing experiments on live people. She was evil but so was he, so idk why shes such a focus and not both of them.

I’ve passed the LaLaurie mansion multiple times, and I swear, I’ve felt so much anger from that building. It was long before I knew what the building was, but it freaked me out.

Hi, nola resident here. My hubby's family knew the eccentric owner who had to have all white furniture in the living room but forbid all red drinks, including wine. The number of times he sent his white couch to be cleaned because of random red stains was literally insane. Also while she was never arrested or tried for the 1834 events an a warrant was issued. It's why thet fled to France.

Her story was so awful that when it hit the papers it went all over the country people still had no idea just how bad slavery was and many still made excuses for it until this case and it really helped turn the tide against slavery nationwide

The mansion is privately owned now & one of my daughters was invited to stay there as a guest with friends of the owner. She felt very uneasy, but thought it was her imagination until one night, as she was getting ready to go out to dinner, she dropped a large hoop earring on the floor & as she bent down to get it, watched it slide across the floor & disappear under the baseboard. She texted right away to tell me that a ghost stole her earring. 😳
