I learned about teppanyaki on a cruise ship and just thought it was a name brand. Why would they think teppanyaki would be hard when our neighbor is Mexico?

This is a hibachi and honeslty I feel like teppanyaki is just a bigger, electrical, more modern version so it's close enough for me. Literally means "fire pot" or "fire bowl". Also at least one of the hibachi places in my city was named Teppanyaki. Pretty sure it closed though.

I wish more people understood that the reason why people "can't say" certain things is because they're simply not taking the time to if people can say Tchaikovsky and Beethoven they can say teppanyaki be real.

We have known Teppanyaki for years, since 2003 when I was in the Navy. However whenever I call it that people look at me crazy, so I just say Hibachi. Both names are on our favorite restaurant in Fort Worth, Tx.

I've always known that Tappenyaki wasn't Habachi. Habachi are charcoal grills. When you get the charcoal grilled chicken skewers, that's Habachi.

Teppan: flat iron griddle. Habachi: to cook on a small grill over coals. Yaki: is a general term for cooking. It can mean many things but generally the same concept such as cooking on direct heat, to fry, to grill, to roast, to sear, etc.
