my husband switched his shifts around to be able to be there on my surgery day, he works at the hospital where I had my surgery so he made sure it was his shift which ensured he could be by my side even outside of visiting hours. If your partner isn't there when you're having something so stressful done it means they don't care about you.

My mom has had 3 surgeries this past year, and each time I had to bring food and coffee to my dad in the waiting room because he refused to leave the surgery area, even though the hospital cafeteria was just a few halls down. ❤
