@billmaeda: Dumbbell Squat - age 57, December 1, 2025 ⚠️CAUTION: THIS VIDEO IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. THE ACTION(S) SHOWN CAN BE DANGEROUS OR FATAL. PLEASE VIEW WITH DISCRETION. If you only have two dumbbells and you want to strengthen and grow the most muscle and bone while also hardening your grip and your feet, then do this exercise. The dumbbell squat is great for beginners because it resembles many of the activities a person does in daily life, so practicing it makes sense as improvement starts making life easier. The important thing is to point your feet straight ahead and keep your weight on the outer edges by lifting your inner ankle bones up and away from each other while pushing down hard with the toes. I’m flat footed, so this is how I create a muscular arch that aligns my bones in away that diverts force away from the parts of me that are damaged. It’s also important to keep your chest tall and inflated like a gorilla throughout this and all squatting exercises. Doing this will automatically organize and recruit all the back and core musculature required to maintain proper posture and form. Keeping my way on the outer edges of my feet while keeping my chest “gorilla tall” allows me to move heavier weights through deeper ranges of motion without pain or further damage. Thank you for being here. Aloha
