إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون. انتقل إلى رحمة الله تعالى في مصر اليوم، الجمعة، الحاج عبده همام، عن عمر تجاوز ستة وثمانين عامًا، وكانت وفاته أثناء خطبة الجمعة، بعد أن طلب من أسرته أن يخرج إلى صلاة الجمعة. عرفتُ عم عبده رجلًا مواظبًا على صلاة الجماعة في مسجد التوحيد، لأكثر من ثلاثين عامًا، وقد تطوع مؤذنًا لمسجد التوحيد الإسلامي في نيوجيرسي، بلا أجر، لأكثر من عشرين سنة، محتسبًا عمله عند الله، وخادمًا لبيته. ثم عاد إلى مصر منذ عدة أعوام، لحاجته إلى الرعاية الأسرية. وما أجمل أن يختم الله للمرء حياته على ما ألفه من طاعة! فقد قضى عم عبده سنوات طويلة متعلقًا بالمسجد، مؤذنًا فيه، ومحافظًا على الصلاة في جماعته، ثم خرج يوم الجمعة قاصدًا الصلاة، ففاضت روحه إلى خالقها أثناء الخطبة. نسأل الله أن يجعل ذلك حسن خاتمة له، وأن يبعثه على ما مات عليه من الخير والطاعة. وقد صح عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال: «يُبْعَثُ كُلُّ عَبْدٍ عَلَى مَا مَاتَ عَلَيْهِ». رواه مسلم عن جابر. وباسمي، وباسم إدارة مسجد التوحيد الإسلامي، ونيابةً عن الجالية المسلمة في نيوجيرسي، أتقدم بخالص العزاء وصادق المواساة إلى أسرة الفقيد وأقاربه وأحبابه في مصر وأمريكا. نسأل الله أن يغفر له ويرحمه، وأن يكرم نزله، ويوسع مدخله، وأن يجعل ما أمضاه في خدمة المسجد والأذان والصلاة في ميزان حسناته، وأن يجزيه عن أهل المسجد خير الجزاء. اللهم اغفر له وارحمه، وعافه واعف عنه، وأكرم نزله، واجعل قبره روضة من رياض الجنة، واجمعه بأهله وأحبابه في جنات النعيم. لله ما أخذ، وله ما أعطى، وكل شيء عنده بأجل مسمى. فلتصبر أسرته، ولتحتسب، ولتسترجع. وصلى الله وسلم وبارك على نبينا محمد. In Loving Memory and Condolences for Hajj Abduh Hammam (May Allah Have Mercy on Him) Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we shall return. Hajj Abduh Hammam passed away in Egypt today, Friday, at the age of over eighty-six. He departed this life while listening to the Friday sermon, after asking his family to take him to attend Jumu‘ah prayer. I knew hajj Abduh as a man devoted to the congregational prayers at Masjid Al-Tawheed, where he regularly attended for more than thirty years. For over twenty years, he also served voluntarily, without compensation, as the mu’adhdhin (caller to prayer) of Masjid Al-Tawheed in New Jersey, seeking his reward from Allah and serving His House. Few years ago, he returned to Egypt because he needed the care and support of his family. How beautiful it is when Allah grants a person a good ending upon the very deeds to which he devoted his life! Hajj Abduh spent many years attached to the masjid, calling the believers to prayer and faithfully attending the congregational prayers. Then, on Friday, he set out to attend Jumu‘ah, and his soul returned to its Creator during the sermon. We ask Allah to make this a good ending for him and to resurrect him upon the goodness and obedience in which he lived. The Prophet ﷺ authentically said: “Every servant will be resurrected upon that upon which he died.” (Reported by Muslim.) On my own behalf, on behalf of the administration of Masjid Al-Tawheed, and on behalf of the Muslim community in New Jersey, I extend my heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the family, relatives, and loved ones of the deceased in Egypt and America. We ask Allah to forgive him, have mercy upon him, honor his resting place, and grant him a spacious abode. May Allah place the many years he devoted to serving the masjid, calling the adhan, and attending the prayers on the scale of his good deeds, and reward him generously for his service to the community. O Allah, forgive him and have mercy upon him. Grant him well-being and pardon him. Honor his arrival in the Hereafter, make his grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and reunite him with his family and loved ones in the Gardens of Bliss. To Allah belongs what He takes and what He gives, and everything with Him has an appointed term. Let his family be patient and seek their reward from Allah. Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we shall return. وصلى الله وسلم وبارك على نبينا محمد.
